Three-time Formula One driver champion Jackie Stewart called it 'The Green Hell' due to its extremely challenging nature. Completed in 1927, the Nurburgring is a race track located in Germany's Eifel region around the village of Nurburg.

In its early history, the track consisted of the 14.1 mile North Loop known as the Nordschleife, and the 4.8 mile South Loop known as the Sudschleife. At present, the track consists of the Nordschleife and the 3.2 mile Grand Prix Circuit known as the GP Strecke which was completed in 1984. The combined track distance of the Nordschleife and GP Strecke is 16.1 miles and encompasses 170 turns.

The annual highlight is the ADAC 24 Hour Race Nurburgring featuring over 200 Touring and GT cars competing together. The track is renown for being open to the public as a one-way toll road and attracts driving enthusiasts from all over the world.
