Sam Posey piloted his #77 Dodge Challenger to a second podium of the season at Road America in Wisconsin during the 1970 Trans-American series manufacturer's championship in the over-2-liter class. In their only season of competition, Posey, team owner Ray Caldwell, and Dodge earned three third-place finishes and fourth place in the championship. With its wild 'Sublime' paint and striking graphics, the #77 Challenger is a Trans-Am racing legend.

The Challenger was built by Dan Gurney's All American Racers and prepared for competition by Ray Caldwell's Autodynamics team. Power came from a Keith Black Racing Engines-built V8 that displaced 303 cubic-inches (5-liters) and produced around 460 horsepower.

The 1970 season of the Trans-Am championship in the over-2-liter class marked the height of the Pony Car Wars and is highly regarded in American motorsports history, with every major American automobile manufacturer competing against one another: American Motors, Chrysler, Ford, and General Motors.
